I think this is the name of a book — Max Lucado? Probably since Max has the cooloest book names and I can’t even come up with a super cool bloggy name.
Focus — (that was for me).
I had dinner with some sweet blog girls the other night and we got into a discussion about grace. I made the comment that I’m just stunned that God allows me to speak His name — in front of groups after the life I’ve led.
GRACE. That’s all it is. Uncommon grace. Not the everyday run-of-the-mill grace, but deep down to the bone grace. Grace that just knocks me silly.
There are so many days I just look around and say “Lord, wow! You are just incredible to love on me so very much.” Grace.
When I stand up in front of my Bible study chicks and pray, I think “Wow, Lord. Thank you for this huge blessing.” Grace.
When I am blessed to do anything that God calls to do to. Grace.
From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace. John 1:16
Breathe that verse of scripture in. From HIS fullness! From Him, we have ALL received a huge heaping of grace.
Grace is something that just knocks me to my knees. How can this Holy and Righteous God ever use me? It’s grace. Why would He ever want to? In His love and grace.
It’s in the fullness of who He is we will find the joy of who we are.
Grace. He pours it out on us.
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 ESV
He gives grace. Breathe it in — Grace.
Amen, Sista.
And I love John 1:16. It doesn’t say “because He sorta felt sorry for you, we all have received grace…” The part that gets me EVERY TIME is the “From His fullness” part.
Mind boggling.
And makes me so proud of a God like that.
He has given me more than my share….Oh Mary—this is too good!
Grace UPON Grace.
Makes me think of my dad’s plate at a pot-luck. A big ol’ heapin’ helpin’ of Grace UPON Grace.
Nothing like it. Nothing comes close.
Missing you,
Melinda
