From Pete Wilson – “Jesus chose to see people for who they could be rather than who they are in that moment.”
That statement just knocked the breath right out of me. Have I been committed to Jesus for so long that I forget what it’s like to be out there — without Him? Or have I forgotten my early Christian days when I made judgements and statements out of ignorance and arrogance?
I still make judgements out of ignorance and arrogance. I see myself as this open and accepting follower of Christ. I believe in GRACE — fully and wholy. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is a gift from God Eph 2:8
It’s in this grace that I want to accept people. I want to see people who they could be! I would rather see me for who I could be if I’d stop procrastinating and put down the fried chicken.
This world is filled with bad stuff — but I want to believe in the good of my fellow man. I know that we are ALL God’s children and it is His desire that ALL come to know Him as Lord and Savior.
Thanks for making me think Pete.
It is so cool how God puts people in your path who are seeing the same amazing “new bits” of who He is. We can stand wallow together in Hiz greatness and brag on Him which only feeds our hearts even more.
The truth that we can’t dissapoint Him BECAUSE of His Grace, because He sees us in Christ now just blows me away. Sure we still reap what we sow but with that truth unpacked we are changing now not because we HAVE to but because we WANT to … [sandra takes big breath] 🙂
so good – reminded today myself to the need to stay humble. Great word!
Wow. That really packs a punch. Oh that we could all walk by that one statement.
Love you – sorry I haven’t called you yet. Give me grace please…I’ll pop up when you least expect it.
