I’m planning a road trip — in the Spring of 2012.  Sounds like a long time off but really, it’s not.  And with my schedule which reads like this:

Baby girl off to college-oldest girl expecting baby–final edit for book- working for cruise company-writing proposal on book two- and that’s just for the next 6 weeks.  I left out three birthdays and an anniversary.  I’m a bit busy, so I’m grabbing planning time where ever I can.

Back to the Road Trip — I’m working out the details on a Route 66 trip I mentioned a few days ago.  And oh MY at the details!  There are quite a few of them.

Where do we start?  We’re thinking Oklahoma City.

Where do we stop?  Oh my at the options — Amarillo, Tucumcari, Sante Fe, Winslow (to stand on a corner), Flagstaff, and so many more.

And above ALL — how do we MEET the  people?

Beyond all the laughter and the fun. After all the joy of being together and thrill of an adventure, it’s really about what God has called me to — connecting with women.  Glorifying His Name in the all the earth (at least the part that can hear me).

The going is fun (oh my it is SO MUCH FUN).  The traveling companions are fantastic (Melinda Garman, Pat Layton, Karen Barrows, as of today). The opportunity to share my book thrills me, but more than all of this —

it’s the connection along the way.

It’s the girl who has a story to share.

It’s the sister who longs to meet some faith friends.

It’s the girlfriends who are always up for a get together.

I’m knee deep  in planning, but I need your help.

We are planning several stops along the road — at restaurants, bookstores and coffee shops.  I’m hoping to speak at a couple of churches on the route.  I would love to have you join us.

Are you interested?

Would you meet us along the road for some girlfriend time?
