Each Monday I am posting one question – just one – for us to consider together. Read about it here – One Question
Nothing fancy here – just a question for us to ponder.
In which spiritual discipline do you most want to make progress this year and what will you do about it?
First up, I had to figure out just what spiritual disciplines are. I assumed prayer, bible study, being quiet before God and since I’m not a theologian I would encourage you to dig deeper if you desire.
I decided that I needed work in all three, but since I needed to chose just one for this post I am going to pick Bible study. I need to study the Word more and I need to commit more of it to memory. To make this happening I’m memorizing 24 verses of scripture this year. And I’m not just picking the easiest ones… because I’ve done that in the past… I’m choosing scripture that is meaningful in my life. Scriptures God is using to make changes in my life.
So what about you? Are you doing anything different this year?
Yes I am doing things a little different this year, when somebody upsets me instead of going there in my mind I crab my scripture verses and not let the enemy get a foot hold in my life, When my mom whom is elderly that I take care of says something negative to me I choose not to go down that path with her I just start claming my promsies that God has given me . Hope to be joining in tonight on corp prayer so look for me
Thanks Mary
I am glad I am getting to know you women over this crazy internet

Being more consistent in my study of the Word. Not just digging when I have a class to teach but digging for me. God teaches me everytime I dig so I want to do more digging for my life.
Included in that is Scripture memory. I know so many have joined Beth Moore in the memorization of Scripture. I will not be doing that this time. I am seeking God for the Scripture HE wants me to memorize. If it’s 24 verses in a year, great. If it’s less, fine. If it’s more, O mercy! But, God will show me. I am striving to be sensitive to His voice more than ever.

I also am doing scripture memory, but that is pretty easy for me.
My biggest struggle is morning quiet time. I just can’t seem to make it happen. I have to be at work at 7am so I already get up at 5am. I know there are people who get up even earlier to do it, but it’s not me. I really, really have a hard time not judging myself over this one.
Thanks for posting this question. Maybe I could cut myself some slack and do it on my days off and not be so hard on myself about it.
