Walk Worthy of your calling
Whoa — that’s a statement that reminds me that I’m called by God to serve His people. This isn’t about me.
And being a speaker, that’s not about you. It’s about the calling God has placed on your life.
What are you doing to walk about that calling? Are you talking with the Lord about your calling?
Let’s look at the scripture passage I reference at the beginning :
Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1-3 CSB
I love this passage of scripture in The Message version
In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.
Eph 4:1-3 MSG
Let’s agree that we both need to RUN down the road God has called us to travel.
What’s holding you back. There is a person who needs the message that you’re crafting. God is equipping you to help another. I love how God works in and through us. It’s so humbling.
Take the next step that God has put before you — maybe that’s working on your message or practicing how to deliver your message. Maybe it’s finding 20 churches to connect with. Whatever the step is — take it. Move forward.
Remember the person who needs your message – she has a need and God is equipping you to fill that need.
I want to walk worthy of my calling and I want the same for you. Let’s hold one another accountable to this.
What one thing will you do today to walk out your calling?
I love this phrase in the passage – “steadily pouring yourselves out”.
My one thing to walk out my calling? I’m going to do a mind map to figure out the direction my calling in this season of life.
