“Does she make me want to know Jesus more?”
It was a question in a comment on a recent blog post about friendships. And I wondered– Do I make people want to know Jesus more?
It’s been the question rolling around in my brain and my heart for days. With only a little over three months until God, Grace and Girlfriends releases, girlfriend relationships are at the forefront of my thoughts. I’m excited and thrilled, but above all I want this book to glorify Jesus — because without His amazing love and grace and incredible blessings it would never have made it out of my heart and onto the page.
I want the people in my life to want to know Jesus more. I want it for my family and for my friends. But does my life make them want to know Jesus more? Do I challenge people to set out in faith or do I encourage them to stay inside their comfort zone?
Do I stand up and shout when a friend makes a leap of faith even when it doesn’t look like the leap I’d make?
Do I encourage the people in my life to trust God more and the world less?
What is it about a person that makes you want more Jesus? What attributes encourage, challenge and inspire you?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
What makes me want more Jesus? The degree to which THEY want Jesus.
My grandmother made me want more Jesus. He seemed to be her best friend and He was a crucial part of every part of her life. I did not understand it as a child, but oh mercy, do I ever understand it now. She passed her legacy of loving Jesus on down to her granddaughter.
